When it comes to Marvel’s Lethal Protector, Venom doesn’t have many weaknesses to exploit, but now one of his biggest has just given way to an anti-symbiote weapon that can take him down without a fight. Venom’s new nemesis has not only found a way to break his symbiote form effectively but has weaponized sound in a way that Venom hasn't experienced before, and as expected, this development is decidedly not a good thing for Marvel’s iconic anti-hero.
Seen in the opening pages of Venom #4, by Ram V and Bryan Hitch, the Venom symbiote is at a crossroads as it has recently been separated from its new host, Dylan Brock, and is wrestling with the idea of how — and why — he feels so compelled to save him. Following a trail left behind by another symbiote, Sleeper, who's also helping to protect Dylan, Venom is met by a new villain that isn’t pulling his punches.

Dubbed Spearhead, this baddie has been tasked with poking as many “holes” into Venom as possible to push the symbiote to its limits and see what happens to it when it reaches them. Wearing a high-tech suit of armor and brandishing a spear-like weapon, Spearhead immediately shows how competent he is in a fight, as well as why his weapon of choice is the ultimate tool in taking down a symbiote like Venom.
