However, the Grand Theft Auto 6 active development announcement revealed that the game was «far along» in its development cycle, giving fans hope they may see more news on the title in the near future. To that end, recently a Reddit user named CoryLVV created a post talking about a patent created by Take-Two that seems to point towards the possibility of an unbelievably large map in Grand Theft Auto 6.
As CoryLVV states, the patent seems to be for an in-game system that would swap players from one session to another without having to experience one of Grand Theft Auto's dreaded loading screens, which have been known to last for a very long time. Along with reducing loading times significantly, the patent also implies that there will be massive areas for players to explore considering they'll need to swap between zones. This rumor could potentially lead to GTA 6 being another immigrant story, as multiple massive areas could coincide with multiple states or even countries for players to explore.
