Promising puzzle adventure Tin Hearts was confirmed and scheduled to release on 20th April for both PS5 and PS4, but in a twist we don’t think we’ve ever seen this close to launch before, the title’s now been signed up by Nintendo as a timed Switch exclusive. That means players on other platforms will have to wait until 16th May to play the game, including those on PlayStation platforms.
“Launching games is getting tougher, sometimes it is worth mixing things up,” a strange statement from publisher Wired Productions’ Leo Zullo starts. “With the love shown by Nintendo and Nintendo fans, it made sense to give those players a chance to experience the wholesome Tin Hearts – especially before Zelda comes and takes over.”
Developer Rogue Suns’ Kostas Zarifis made a similarly odd comment: “After winning ‘Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch Game’ at Gamescom last year we wanted to celebrate all the love we’ve been receiving from the Nintendo community and this timed exclusive launch felt like a great way to do just that.”
Could the team have not celebrated with the Nintendo community and still released on other platforms? Look, we know how this works, and there’s obviously been a few cheques cleared here – we just don’t think we’ve ever seen them drop this close to launch before. Oh well, reorganise your calendars, folks – 16th May it is!
