Tower of Fantasy has begun a new event, Ecological Research event, started phase 7 of the Advanced Pass, and released a showcase video for Icarus.
The new event,Ecological Research, starts today and runs through May 3rd. Get ready to continue exploring the Grand Sea for the event, which will have you get fish samples from under the water. Submit those fish samples to get their genetic sequences and collect ocean chips. This is the event currency that you can use to trade for rewards like an eyepiece, Azure Heart shards, or a red nucleus.
The new pass season opens today. You can level your pass up via participating in various activities and get some free rewards, in typical battle pass style. If you upgrade to a Premium/ Collector’s Edition pass, you’ll also be able to get some extra rewards, including new outfits.
When Tower of Fantasy announces a new simulacrum, there’s usually a showcase video that follows the lore video before the new character’s release. This time, Icarus’ showcase came a few days after his release. Better late than never, as Icarus has a lot of potential if you understand his mechanics.
Wielding his special weapon, Precious One, Icarus is a DPS with frost elemental ability. He’s fast and one of the highlights in his showcase is how to use discharges to let him cast pretty continuously. Precious One looks like a sharp yo-yo, and he unleashes it on his enemies with a series of skills.
One, Desolate Day, has him send out his weapon at enemies, dealing damage and then returning to give him damage reduction and HP recovery. Among his other abilities are a way to deal high damage to enemies with 95%+ of their HP. That damage is based on the enemy’s max HP, so using this on bosses is a good idea. His
