The FIFA organization and EA may have parted ways with one another, leading to the reveal of its successor EA Sports FC, but the latest FIFA game has still managed to become one of the best-selling games in the series.
During EA’s fourth quarter earnings report, the publisher revealed that FIFA 23 had already surpassed the lifetime sales of FIFA 22 in its first six months since launch, making it “the most successful launch in franchise history.” Whether this strong momentum is able to be maintained for the debut of EA Sports FC later this year is still up in the air, but those who want to check out the latest soccer simulator will have a new opportunity to do so next week. On May 16, FIFA 23 will be added to EA Play’s Play List library, which means that EA Play subscribers on all platforms as well as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to experience the full game at no additional cost.
