While Focus Entertainment’s more recent output as a publisher have focused on darker and/or more action-packed titles such as A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Atomic Heart, among others, it’s time for them to flex their variety and provide us with a more cozy experience. And that’s where developers Un Ne Je Sais Quoi and Umanimation come in with Dordogne, a gorgeous watercolor-styled adventure that has been capturing a lot of hearts. And just in time for a summer-themed game about one’s childhood, a June release date has been announced for the game, as seen in the trailer below.
The game sees you playing as Mimi, a woman searching for her mysteriously missing childhood memories, including the time they spent with their late grandmother. Delving into a watercolor world where they can recount their memories as a kid in the French countryside, players will help Mimi look around, solve puzzles, and interact with the locals…and also maybe discover some family secrets along the way, as hinted by a few darker moments towards the end. In the end, though, Dordogne should hopefully be a rather charming adventure that’s perfect for the summer season (or any season), and we’ll see if that’s the case when it comes out on June 13 for all major platforms.
