@RogerRoger Interesting! Wouldn't have imagined you'd have ever had the opportunity to play this game.
Out of interest, do you have any experience with BotW?
@Ralizah Yep. Played it back at launch, on my partner's Switch. He'd run around exploring, chatting to NPCs and cooking in my absence, doing the shrines he felt able to do, and then I'd visit for a couple days every other week and fight all the enemies and boss battles for him, as well as clear the fiddly leftover shrines. He'd take clips of important or sweet story beats, as well as screenshots of cool things he'd found, and get me back up-to-speed so that I had context for my actions.
We stopped short of completing the story because on the way to the finale, a sub-boss kicked my butt and I rage-quit. Because I was playing it so infrequently (and playing my own games in between) I simply couldn't get the parry mechanic down. My partner felt like he'd seen enough of the game and didn't mind me walking away, and then Super Mario Odyssey came out, and that was that.

As for me, it's less about the game itself and more about the shared experience, so I'm not gonna push things. I mean, I stand by my statement calling it «the best Nintendo game I've played» but please, do remember that I'm not really a Nintendo gamer!
After spending most of my weekend with Tears of the Kingdom I will say I am enjoying it… but not loving it. If there was any part of BOTW you didn't like, it is probably still here and entirely untouched. I just think that is such a shame.
You could argue that «well BOTW to me was a perfect game» and
