Sega has announced an August 29 release date for Samba de Amigo: Party Central.
The publisher has opened pre-orders for the game, which comes in two forms: the standard digital edition is priced at $39.99 / £35.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition costs $49.99 / £44.99.
The latter comes with a Sonic the Hedgehog music DLC pack including ‘Open Your Heart’, ‘Reach for the Stars’ and ‘I’m Here’, as well as Sonic and Tails costumes.
It also comes with Space Channel 5, Super Monkey Ball, and PuyoPuyo costumes and accessories.
And post-launch, a Sega music DLC pack will add tracks from Space Channel 5, Rhythm Thief and RGG Studio.
Samba de Amigo: Party Central was officially announced for Switch during a Nintendo Direct presentation in February.
The rhythm action game will include over 40 songs when it’s released this summer, including 20 that were confirmed last month.
It will offer various party modes, including an online mode supporting up to eight players.
Developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, the original Samba de Amigo was released in arcades in 1999 and for Dreamcast the following year. VGC named it one of the best Dreamcast games for Sega’s final home console.
Earlier today, Sega laid off 121 employees at Relic Entertainment, the Vancouver, Canada-based studio behind the Company of Heroes and Age of Empires series.
It also announced Total War: Pharaoh, the newest entry in Creative Assembly’s long-running strategy series.
During a recent earnings presentation, Sega indicated that it could be the next publisher to start charging $70 for some of its games.
It also saidit’s interested in the possibility of adapting other IPs for the big screen, following the success of the Sonic movies.
