AION Classic’s Europe server has a new roadmap update, showing some of what is coming to Gameforge’s Classic server starting this summer. These include new regions, instances, a higher level cap, this and more are on the way. The team is also addressing recent DDoS attacks, and compensation.
Since the new Classic serverfully launched just over a month ago, Gameforge is reporting several hundred thousand characters created who’ve completed millions of quests. This also meant that in addition to the Atreia server, they opened up another one to support demand, Tahabata. On the two servers, the factions are roughly split on each of them, which is a good sign if you’re dealing with faction-based conflict.
With the success of the server population, also came some who didn't want to play nice. Extensive DDoS attacks have occurred, but the team has been working on getting the servers to remain stable. Gameforge is offering compensation for the three missed days, and are running special events that will also be good for some boosts.
The team unveiled the roadmap that will begin adding additional content this year, beginning this summer. Expect the first big update at the end of July, with a new level cap of 55, and the introduction of new regions: Inggison and Gelkmaros. In addition, there will be six PVE instances, and two PVP instances, including the 6v6 Tiak Research Base. With the new level cap there will also be new gear, and added crafting gathering skill levels.
In September, they’ll add more weapons and gear, and expand the selection of available instances. We can expect to see more of both PVE and PVP instances added to the game. While not the complete list, these will be included:
