Capcom only recently announced that Resident Evil Village had sold 7.9 million units as of March 31, which meant it was only a matter of time before it would hit that 8 million milestone. As it turns out, Capcom has now announced that that’s officially happened.
Taking to Twitter, the Japanese publisher recently revealed that Resident Evil Village has now sold over 8 million units worldwide across all platforms since its launch a little over two years ago.
The first person survival horror title has seen some significant updates over recent months, which likely will have contributed to sales, with Winters’ Expansion releasing in October last year, followed by the launch of a PlayStation VR2 version earlier this year.
In our review of the base game upon its release, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Resident Evil Village expertly combines tense horror, thrilling action, engaging exploration, and compelling storytelling in a single sublime experience, delivering one of the best games in the history of Capcom’s beloved survival horror franchise.” Read the full review through here.
Resident Evil Village is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
