We thought Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown made a great first impression with its debut trailer, but it attracted a widely negative response from most. Well, however you feel about it, the game has just received a more in-depth look at actual gameplay, and if you ask us, it's looking very promising.
Playing as Sargon, you explore a «semi-open», side-scrolling world, with an even split on acrobatic platforming and fast-paced combat. The series' signature time-bending abilities make a return as well, changing the landscape around you and also aiding you in fights.
It looks super tight and responsive across the board — we're pretty excited to get our hands on this. Fortunately, it's not that far away, launching on PS5 and PS4 on 18th January 2024. What do you make of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown? Tell us in the comments section below.
Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters. Ever hopeful that the Burnout series makes a miraculous return.
I still think this looks pretty damn good. Some neat game mechanics going on.

I think it could be a gem! Not a hidden gem. But, it looks like it could be a ton of fun. Haven’t played a side scroller since I played Odin Sphere earlier this year!
This game gives a very Hades feel, and Strider too. I think it will be a hit when people plays it. The combat system is awesome!
I don't understand the negativity. The game looks fun. I didn't like the music used for the reveal trailer, but that doesn't affect the game.
