Uncharted hit cinemas last week as PlayStation's quest to turn some of its biggest games into movies and TV shows continued. The big-screen adaptation casts Tom Holland in the role of Nathan Drake, and as revealed by the Spider-Man actor during an appearance on SiriusXM, he very much enjoys getting better acquainted with some of the skills that his on-screen characters have as a way to make his performances feel more real.
To prepare for his Uncharted role, Holland went to bartending school and actually picked up a bit of bar work ahead of filming the movie. “I ended up doing a few shifts at this bar in London, which was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it,” Holland revealed. Well, he was enjoying it until he was effectively fired from the role.

Holland doesn't mention whether he was a good bartender, though his enthusiasm when talking about making espresso martinis and his skills in the film would suggest he's pretty good. It wasn't his drink-making skills, or lack of them, that lost him his pub job. It was the minor detail that he is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable actors on the planet. Word started to spread that Holland was mixing drinks at a bar in London, and people started to flock to said bar to see him for themselves.
You would think more people coming to a bar, and hence spending more money, would be good news for the owners, but apparently not. Holland was eventually asked to leave his role behind the bar and hasn't even been welcomed back as a patron, at least not willingly. “It's a little bit of a rocky relationship at the minute. I've been giving them a lot of press though. So they just shut up and let me back.”
