Andrew Garfield couldn't help but laugh at Tom Holland for accidentally spoiling Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actors shared the screen for the first time as two different versions of Spider-Man in the Jon Watts-directed flick. But while Garfield did a really great job keeping his involvement in the film a secret, Holland clearly struggled.
Despite persistent rumors, not to mention multiple leaks, Marvel Studios and Sony decided to stay mum regarding the inclusions of Tobey Maguire, Charlie Cox, and Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Thanks to the film's multiversal nature, villains from other dimensions — such as Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx's Electro, and Alfred Molina's Doc Ock — entered the MCU fold. This left fans convinced that their respective Spider-Man counterparts would eventually appear. So when the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer was released, introducing these villains to the MCU, the public was further convinced that both Maguire and Garfield would be in the movie — particularly the latter, who was speculated to be the one to save MJ (Zendaya) from her dramatic fall.

Said falling scene was an immediate topic of conversation online as it mimicked Gwen's (Emma Stone) death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which Garfield's Spider-Man failed to save her in time. Still, both Marvel Studios and Sony decided to keep the moment officially under wraps. Unfortunately, despite the studios' wishes, Holland inadvertently supported the Garfield rumors in a press junket interview. Now, Garfield gets to react to that specific moment in a new BBC Radio 1 video, and since Spider-Man: No Way Home has been out for a while
