Andrew Garfield says he doesn't believe that he'll ever play Spider-Man again. Starring in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man movies, the actor's stint as the wall-crawler was unceremoniously cut short after Sony pulled the plug on The Amazing Spider-Man 3. But seven years after he exited the role, Garfield was given the chance to reprise his Peter Parker/Spider-Man portrayal, this time in the MCU through Spider-Man: No Way Home.
For months, the actor was hounded by questions regarding persistent rumors that he would appear in the latest Marvel Studios and Sony collaboration. Unlike fellow returning Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire, Garfield couldn't evade the press' questions, since he was also busy promoting other projects such as Netflix's Tick, Tick… Boom! and The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Despite heavy fan speculation, however, Garfield was adamant about denying his Spider-Man's involvement in No Way Home. However, as is now well-known, the actor's cover-up was well intended, meant to preserve the surprising reveal of both he and fellow former Spider-Man Maguire joining Tom Holland's version of the hero in MCU threequel.

Garfield quickly revealed that he has «no plans» to play Spider-Man again.
