A behind-the-scenes image from Spider-Man: No Way Home features Tom Holland alongside six different Spider-Men. The film follows Peter Parker (Holland) and his struggle to live a normal life after his identity is revealed. He seeks out Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help, and the spell he casts loses control, causing the multiverse to open up and chaos to unleash. This allowed two beloved characters to make their entrance alongside many of their villains: Peter-Two (Tobey Maguire) and Peter-Three (Andrew Garfield).
Maguire was the first to take the Spider-Man mantle in Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy, while Garfield took over the character a few years later in two The Amazing Spider-Man movies. Maguire and Garfield spent most of the marketing leading up to Spider-Man: No Way Home's premiere trying to debunk rumors that they were included in the film. The former's denial campaign was for the most part a success, while the latter's fell short after a video from set leaked and revealed Garfield in costume. The actor continued to insist that he wasn't involved despite the evidence, which still helped to make it a sweet surprise for viewers of the film when all three Spider-Men teamed up for an epic battle.
