There aren't enough hours in the day to watch every video on TikTok, but the social network is testing a way for users to easily find content they may have missed.
Some TikTok users are reporting a new "Watch History" feature—housed in the app's Settings > Content and Activity—has appeared which highlights clips previously scrolled past or lost in an accidental page refresh.
Twitter user Hammod Oh uncovered the feature last week, tagging social media consultant Matt Navarra, who widely shared the tweet:
It's not impossible to uncover lost TikTok videos. As TechCrunch pointed out, user rachforaday earlier this year walked users through the process of finding misplaced content using a "watched videos" search filter. The hack applies only to clips you've seen in the past seven days. Based on screenshots shared by Oh, this appears to be the same for TikTok's experimental function.
It's unclear how many people currently have access to the test, and when (or if) TikTok plans to roll it out more widely. "We're always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience," a company spokesperson told TechCrunch. The social media platform did not immediately respond to PCMag's request for comment.
