Schell has worked as a creature designer for several films over the years including, The Mist, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While Neville Page collaborated with J.J. Abrams to design Clover in Cloverfield, Schell worked on the film as the lead animatronics effects painter. The Lake may not be widely available to US audiences, but the horror film will no doubt benefit from having Schell working on the creature design. Schell has proven his talent as a creature feature artist given the movies listed above, so it should be interesting to see a film where he is credited as the main creature designer.
