Good Deed Entertainment has shared the official trailer for the upcoming romantic drama, starring Josh Radnor (How I Met Your Mother) as Rob. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on January 24, followed by its digital release on February 18.
“In 1970, a middle-class couple and their 17-year-old daughter create a web of secrets and lies as they each try to choose between their safe, domestic lives and the lure of sexual and personal freedom,” reads the official synopsis.

The video introduces a teenage girl, who has complicated family situation due to her parents’ open relationship status. While she explores her sexual freedom, her parents navigate the challenges that come with their current set-up. In addition to Radnor, the film also stars Annie Parisse, Nuala Cleary, Jasmine Batchelor, Uly Schlesinger, and Gus Birney.
Three Birthdays is written and directed by Jane Weinstock, based on a story by Weinstock and Nevin Schreiner. The film is produced by Andrea Miller, Chris Collins, and James Welling, with Allan Jones serving as an executive producer. The creative team also consists of cinematographer Wolfgang Held, editor Keith Reamer, and music composer David Lang.
Radnor is best known for his role as Ted Mosby in the iconic sitcom How I Met Your Mother, which ran on-air for nine seasons from 2005-2014. His most recent movie appearances were in 2023’s comedy movie Social Animals with Aya Cash and the 2024 dramedy All Happy Families with Michael Shannon executive producing.
