Positioned as a major competitor to EA's, little is known about beyond the fact that it aimed to provide one of the most immersive life-simulator experiences on the market by offering unmatched customization and control over players' characters. That all sounds like a great deal of work, which may explain why publisher Paradox Interactive halted its imminent launch.
Per an official announcement from Paradox Interactive's Deputy CEO Mattias Lilja, is no longer going ahead with its previously scheduled early access release on June 4. While a reason behind the delay was not provided in the statement, Lilja does, unfortunately, confirm that the creative team is not yet willing to lock in an updated release window as they believe it would be "." Paradox will offer more updates and information in the coming months but excited players will simply need to be patient for the time being.

Whether is able to topple remains to be seen but Maxis is currently working on a new iteration of its beloved series. Going by the codename Project Rene, the game is hailed as the next step in series and while it may have been announced in 2022, there's still no word on what fans can expect.
