EA acknowledges complaints from The Sims 4 players, revealing that new updates will be rolled out every two months. These updates will come from a new team allocated to work on the "core game experience", improving The Sims 4's performance on weaker setups in particular.
The first patch will be with us before the end of the month, and the details have already been released. Here, we can see that most of the fixes are being made to the base game, fixing bugs that players have complained to the devs about for some time.
EA announced this change in strategy with a lengthy statement on Twitter. It states that new updates will drop "roughly every two months", and says that players should notice "fewer crashes, a better frame rate, and/or a more responsive simulation."

Anyone who's still not satisfied with the state of the game after these updates might have other options soon, however. As we've previously covered, multiple would-be Sims rivals are in development right now. This includes Life by You, which is headed by a former EA executive. That said, it was just hit with an indefinite delay, so it isn't ready just yet.
