Subway Surfers Celebrates Pride Month With An Epic Collab With Skate Like A Girl
It’s Pride month and everyone is celebrating it with full enthusiasm. And Subway Surfers is a game that has been doing it the best way for the past couple of years. This year, SYBO, the creator of the game, is bringing some major Pride 2024 celebrations to the game. Subway Surfers has teamed up with Skate Like A Girl in their new ‘Surf As Yourself’ campaign.
The Subway Surfers World Tour is taking you to San Francisco, one of the home bases of Skate Like a Girl. Skate Like a Girl is an NGO based out of Seattle that believes in empowering young women, trans people and other individuals through the sport of skateboarding. Coming back to the Skate Like a Girl x Subway Surfers collab. You’ll be hitting the iconic streets of San Francisco, soaking in all the colourful, inclusive vibes. You’ll meet Riley, a brand-new gender-fluid character sporting the colours of the community’s flag: pink, white, purple, black and blue.
Riley is joining the squad of past LGBTQIA+ characters like Pride Yutani, Pride Frank, Callum, Cleo, and Rain. By the way, Rain was the first nonbinary character in the game last year. The campaign also drops another new Surfer Lily, a new outfit Blossom Queen for Cleo and new boards Laser Flip, Rock n’ Riley and Sunny Sailor.

The artists at SYBO have created custom skateboard deck designs for the collab. These designs are inspired by the Pride characters and their flags, including genderqueer, asexual, genderfluid and nonbinary communities. They’re meant to celebrate self-expression and educate players on creating a safe, inclusive environment.
