At long last, Sony just unveiled a gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and it’s every bit as exciting as you thought it would be.
As you can see for yourself in the 10-minute gameplay clip above, Spider-Man 2 once again brings back Peter Parker and Miles Morales from the 2018 game. This time around, Parker is battling a completely different demon in the form of the Symbiote, while Miles begins to wonder if his friend is still the hero he once admired.
The trailer starts by showing Parker and his newly enhanced abilities thanks to the symbiote. The suit looks absolutely incredible, and the devastation you can bring to bear on the mobs is cinematic and satisfying. One of the key elements introduced in this sequel is the ability to switch between Parker and Miles at any given time.
When the showcase does switch to Miles, who’s moving through another part of the city, we get to see the new swinging mechanics at play, which lend the player incredible speed. The two then come together to hunt down Dr. Connors aka Lizard, leading to a very cinematic fight that takes place over the New York Harbor.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is only releasing on PlayStation 5, even though there isn’t a whole lot of graphical improvement to behold in this new showcase. That being said, a few months still separate us from the game’s release in Autumn, so Insomniac might do a bit of technical polishing in this timeframe.
