Sony has been swearing up and down that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games was going to launch sometime this year, but until now, we haven’t actually seen the hugely-anticipated sequel in action. Thankfully, during today’s big PlayStation Showcase that finally changed, as Sony shared a hearty of chunk of Spider-Man 2 gameplay, and the game is looking very impressive.
We already knew Venom would factor into Spider-Man 2, but the first big reveal from the PlayStation Showcase is that you’ll get to play as Peter Parker with his symbiote suit. It looks like Peter will have a whole new host of particularly brutal moves when donning the black duds (and a new attitude to go with it). Ah, but Peter isn’t the only Spider-Man you’ll be playing as, as Sony also showed off how players will be able to switch between Parker and the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man, sometimes within a single cinematic action scene. Speaking of which, the new footage culminates in an intense cinematic-style showdown with the Lizard. We also get confirmation that Kraven the Hunter will be a big factor in the game.
