Motorola has a new Moto G Stylus 5G, and for budget-conscious artists, the built-in stylus offers some of the same functionality found on more expensive phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra for just $399.99, or $100 less than the previous generation.
If the $200 Moto G Stylus with 4G seems too cheap, this might be a good middle ground.
The new Moto G Stylus 5G runs the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, a nice step up from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G found in last year's version. It's also a big jump from the MediaTek Helio G85 found in the 4G version of the Moto G Stylus.
There's 256GB of storage, though you can add a microSD card for up to 2TB of space.
At 6.6 inches, this year's version has a slightly smaller screen than last year's device. It retains the Full HD+ resolution, so it should look sharp enough. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, also found in the previous generation.
Motorola's stylus looks functional, though the company didn't dive too deep into special features or apps that'll come with the phone. Previous versions did have some basic note-taking apps, so we expect at least that much with this year's version.
The phone has a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP multipurpose ultrawide, macro vision, and depth sensor on the rear. The front camera is relatively basic at 16MP, but we'll need to test the phone to see what kind of selfies it captures.
A relatively large 5,000mAh battery is included, along with 20W wired charging.
You can grab the Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G in Cosmic Black or Rose Champagne from Cricket Wireless on June 2 with availability at AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Google Fi Wireless, UScellular, Consumer Cellular, Optimum Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Xfinity Mobile, Boost Infinite and
