US retailers have significantly discounted Sony’s PlayStation 5 God of War Ragnarök console bundle.
Normally priced at $559.99, the bundle is currently widely available for $509.99, representing a 9% discount.
On Sony’s PlayStation Direct store, the offer launched on Friday and will be available until April 15.
Retailers including Amazon and Walmart have matched Sony’s price for the bundle, while Best Buy is offering it for $509.
With a standalone PS5 console costing $499.99, the deal essentially means purchasers are getting a copy of God of War Ragnarök for $10.
VGC’s God of War Ragnarök review labelled the multi-award-winning title one of the best PlayStation games ever.
This would appear to be the first major PS5 discount of its kind since the console launched in November 2020.
In January, Sony signalled that PS5’s long battle with supply issues was finally over, and the company has said it expects the console to smash PS4’s sales record for the first three months of a calendar year.
“PS5 supply improved towards the end of last year, and I’m happy to share that December was the biggest month ever for PS5 console sales, and that we’ve now sold more than 30 million units through to consumers worldwide,” PlayStation boss Jim Ryan said. “Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally starting from this point forward.”
