It has been a while since Xbox updated us all on the upcoming Forza Motorsport, but the return of the racing sim is much anticipated among motorhead enthusiasts and racing fans. The triple-A racer is going to be a technological showcase too, with all manner of advancements and upgrades promised.
But developer Turn 10 Studios has recently issued an update, saying that it is "focused on polishing" the game as it prepares Forza Motorsport for launch "later this year". This polishing might be needed considering the amount of expectation that the racer comes freighted with, seeing as it is intended to be a real showcase for the power of Microsoft's consoles.

Turn 10 has said that Forza Motorsport "has been built from the ground up to leverage the full power and performance of Xbox Series X/S consoles and deliver our most beautiful, technically advanced game yet". This perhaps goes some way in explaining that Xbox One owners won't be getting a native Xbox One version but will need to stream the game via Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Boasting more than 500 cars to collect, customise, and upgrade, Forza Motorsport will feature a full single-player career mode and more than 800 upgrades for the cars players will be collecting. There's an online racing mode and a host of technical advancements. In addition to 4K and 60fps, real-time ray tracing with global illumination, Turn 10 has also hyped up the audio upgrades, while boosts to the title's physics systems are apparently greater than the three previous entries in the series "combined".
While all this sounds tantalising, the proof will be in the pudding
