The Mandalorian Season 3 is premiering next week after a few years away and while we've picked the trailers clean of any detail for what is to come for masked Din (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, it was announced this week that Season 4 is already written.
It's interesting to note that Season 4 of the pop culture hit hasn't officially been announced yet, but series creator Jon Favreau recently confirmed to BFM TV that scripts for Season 4 are already written and waiting to be shot.
The director said he wrote the scripts during Season 3 post-production, stressing that it was essential for the scripts to be done so that the series has a place in the overreaching narrative along with the upcoming Star Wars series the studio has in the works, mainly the Rosario Dawson-led Ahsoka series.
«Season 4, yeah I've written it already,» Favreau said (via Variety). «We have to know where we're going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.»
Along with the live-action Ahsoka series, Disney+ also has the Jude Law-starring series Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte, starring Amandla Stenberg and Carrie-Anne Moss, coming down the pipeline. Details of the latter two shows are pretty slim, however.
The Mandalorian Season 3 premieres March 1 on Disney+, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday.
