Update: Preorders for the special-edition Switch OLED are live at Amazon (March 29).
With less than two months until launch, Nintendo showed off new gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The highly anticipated sequel launches on May 12, and it will be the first Nintendo-published Switch game to retail for $70. In addition to the standard edition of the game, there are several other Tears of the Kingdom products that you can attempt to preorder, including the newly announced special-edition Zelda Switch OLED console. The $360 console is joined by a special-edition Pro Controller and carrying case. You can preorder the special-edition console and carrying case now, but the controller has been going in and out of stock.
The console has remained in stock far longer than the $130 Collector's Edition and Link Amiibo, both of which sold out very quickly. But if you're interested in the special-edition console, we'd recommend locking in your preorder ASAP.
Back to the game: All major retailers had been taking preorders at the original $60 price point, so if you happened to order a copy before the change, you should be good to go. We haven't heard of any retailers canceling or adjusting
