Smog is a mini-boss you can face during one of 's side quests, with an important reward being offered for those who beat it. This enemy wants to play a game through a three-phase boss fight. You'll have to recognize this creature's rules to manipulate the battlefield and beat this living thundercloud at its own game.
You can encounter Smog as you explore the Eastern Temple dungeon, a place filled with puzzles. Clearing this dungeon is part of the side quest offered by the character Sago, who is found west of the Crossflows Plaza in the Zora region. Sago is standing right outside the Temple, making him relatively easy to spot from your horse in .
The first phase of Smog's boss fight starts with the lightning cloud in the center of a maze-like arena full of boulders and green blocks. Smog can only move linearly, meaning that its movement is only horizontal or vertical at any given time. Every time Smog bumps into an object, it must change its movement to another direction instead, as it cannot move past obstacles in its path.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's best echo can help Princess Zelda quite literally reach new heights in a way that others can't.
This is Smog's greatest weakness because it allows you to manipulate the boss' movement patterns. The dungeon mechanic in allows you to create an additional boulder in the boss arena. Utilizing the echo of a boulder, you can place an additional obstacle in Smog's path and force it to move somewhere else.
As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Game is Lifer, one of the best places to contain Smog is near the entrance of the boss arena, which you can easily block off by moving boulders into the corners between green blocks.
