may be a game about exploring the great unknown, but one player made it their mission to create the most efficient autonomous outpost the galaxy has ever known. While setting up a small dwelling on a new planet is encouraged by Constellation, one of the most common complaints about is that doing so feels largely pointless. Yet this passionate fan makes it clear that spending enough time on a single project can turn the protagonist into a pioneer of industry with enough resources to establish their own small country.
Posting to Reddit, user THEJimmiChanga shared a video of their massive outpost that funnels in around 40 different resources from 14 different planets through six incoming cargo streams.
The scale of the build is staggering as they reveal that they've managed to surround their outpost with hundreds of storage crates with more constantly being brought in without fail. The community is smitten with the factory-like creation, with THEJimmiChanga noting that it took them approximately 60 hours over the course of several months to establish such a complicated process.
One of the most common questions regarding THEJimmiChanga's sprawling outpost is the purpose of it all given how most players largely ignore the system. The creator explained that they've gone to the effort so that they can simply build or craft anything they may want when they touch down on a planet, eliminating the need to hunt down specific resources. They also have 20 fabricators running that are used to constantly create parts and items, all of which are sold for a nearly endless stream of credits.
A set-up like this is likely what Bethesda had in mind when it originally designed the outpost system in, but in reality, most users found it tedious. There's no real incentive to establish a massive base to gather resources when most items don't need too many ingredients to craft in the first place. A handful of outposts can be created on a smattering of planets and most players should be just
