Sony has released a new PlayStation 5 system software update.
Version 24.04-09.40.00 introduces the ability to start or join a Discord voice chat directly from the PS5 rather than having to use PC or mobile apps.
It also makes a number of changes to child accounts, which can now link and add third-party services and apps. This process can be managed using new parental controls.
The Pulse Elite wireless headset, Pulse Explore wireless earbuds and PlayStation Link USB adapter have been updated to boost connection stability too.
Sony said it’s also improved system software performance and stability, as well as the messages and usability on some screens.
The patch notes for the update have been republished in full below.
Sony revealed June’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue and Classics titles on Wednesday.
This month’s additions to the subscription service include Monster Hunter Rise, Football Manager 2024, Crusader Kings 3, After Us and Daxter.
