The Joker confirmed as a playable character in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is going to be “one of the most generous , player friendly post launch experiences available” according to a new video from Rocksteady. Each season will include two new episodes that focus on a specific character from the DC Universe, automatically dropped in to the game and, according to the video, it’s not locked behind a battle pass.

There is no Season ass for the game, the Deluxe edition just gets your some cosmetics and early access for just thirty pounds extra, all the Seasons are free. Updates will include new story content, playable characters, missions, gear, weapons, cosmetic items, in-game events, and more.

The first Season will be focussed around The Joker, but as this game is set in the same universe as the Arkham games it is an alternate universe version of the character brought in to the Arkhamverse by Brainiac (Hello to Jason Isaacs).

This Joker was part of an Elseworlds version of the Suicide Squad so he’s rather more co-operative than you might expect, and he’s more like the original vaudevillian Joker from the Batman TV show that starred, Adam West . The Joker has a rocket powered umbrella to fly, glide and grind around the play area.

Season One will launch in March 2024 and Rocksteady has four seasons in total for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League which will add three playable characters and three new environments. The video above does seem to show a frozen cityscape so perhaps Mr. Freeze is one the characters?

Rocksteady have previously explained the narrative reasoning behind the looter shooter tone and need to level and upgrade your gear. To be fair, you are trying to take down the Justice League and none of these four would be capable of this without some kind of advantage. Guns will be a core part of this game’s combat still, and you’ll be able to acquire some upgrades from The Penguin, who’s set up as an arms dealer in town.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is due to release on February 2nd, 2024
