of the popular Apple TV+ show starring Noel Fielding has been canceled by its producers.
The comedy series which hit the platform on March 1, 2024, in the US was renewed for a second season in July after the first season’s success. Apart from Fielding, the show also featured Marc Wootton, Ellie White, Duayne Boachie, and Michael Fielding, among others.
According to a report by The Sun, makers of The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin have canceled Season 2. The reason revealed by a source states that producers decided to cancel the show after Fielding exited it midway.
The outlet reported that the shooting of Season 2 was halted during the Christmas holidays for everyone to have some family time. However, as production resumed after the short break Fielding didn’t make an appearance on the set. This led the producers to now scrap Season 2 which has been in production since the fall of 2024.
An insider close to The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin told The Sun that the decision affected the whole crew of the show deeply. They said, “They were understandably bewildered and infuriated by the bombshell because the show required millions of pounds, months of planning and hours of work.” They further added, “It now effectively means that they are all out of work and looking for new jobs, but they still haven’t had a full explanation.”
The source also disclosed that the circumstances surrounding Fielding are still a mystery to the crew. He added that rather than “pausing filming” the producers decided to cancel the show “before the situation got any worse.”
Noel Fielding played the titular role of Dick Turpin, a robber in the show who embarked on various adventures.
