A new Amphoreus update added to proves that developer HoYoverse needs to revisit its previous destinations’ maps and add it. Version 3.0 arrived earlier this year, bringing forth a series of modifications and new gameplay mechanics to the turn-based RPG. Some of the most notable ones are the time control mechanic, as well as Remembrance as a new playable Path. In addition to that, Version 3.0 also introduced Amphoreus to , a brand-new and mysterious destination, also known as The Eternal Land, where the majority of this year’s narrative content will take place and develop.
The aforementioned time control mechanic is exclusive to Amphoreus. Players can rewind time to unlock access to areas that were otherwise blocked by debris, for example. This is even applied to some treasures. Some chests can be stolen by a Spirithief, and the time control mechanic is the way of bringing the thief back. Aside from naturally locating them, players will have to solve puzzles to find some of the treasure chests in Okhema. These are merely some of the many exclusive mechanics added to Amphoreus, but one of them should actually be incorporated in older maps.
One of the best additions to the Amphoreus maps is called Flying Amphoras. These targettable floating objects can be destroyed with characters’ attacks and, upon doing so, the team comps’ movement speed is drastically increased for a short period. This allows players to quickly traverse Amphoreus’s many streets and halls, especially when their destination is far from a Space Anchor that allows them to quickly teleport to where they want to be. Essentially, Flying Amphoras is a quick boost that players can activate and make them move as if they had used the Technique by Yukong in .
