The Batman TikTok Imagines Pattinson's Bruce Rushing To Put On Eye Shadow
A new TikTok based on The Batman makes fun of Bruce Wayne when he sees the Bat-Signal. The Batman is the latest reboot of the classic character from DC comics. The film stars Robert Pattinson and follows Batman in his second year of crime-fighting as he tracks down an elusive serial killer known as The Riddler (Paul Dano). The Batman, helmed by Cloverfield director Matt Reeves, is the first incarnation of the Caped Crusader to be depicted outside of the ongoing DCEU since Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy ended in 2012.
Since its release on March 3rd, The Batman has seen significant success. With both a massive box-office intake and great acclaim from critics and fans alike, The Batman is well on its way to cementing its place in the pop culture zeitgeist. Naturally, the flood of various internet memes and parodies has come with this success. An aspect of The Batman that seems to be focused on more than most by the fan parodies is Pattinson's particularly dark and broody portrayal of Bruce Wayne. While Wayne has never been a cheerful character, Pattinson takes the character to new levels of angst, which is only compounded by the fact that he is depicted in the film wearing black eye-makeup under his Batman mask. While Pattinson's is not the first Batman to use this trick, not many other interpretations have been shown without their mask while still wearing the makeup, which many moviegoers have joked gives the character a somewhat emo-teenager look.
