Even though E3 2023 is no longer happening, it certainly doesn't feel like it as Summer Game Fest fills the void. Here is a breakdown of the Summer Game Fest and the surrounding Not-E3 conferences happening this week in Los Angeles.
The highlight of gamers each summer, the developer press conferences, are still mostly going forward this year. While we won't have a Nintendo Direct and Sony has already shown what it has coming down the pipeline, we'll see if Microsoft can pick up some momentum with its Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. Ubisoft will be hosting its normal Ubisoft Forward press conference, where we're likely going to see Assassin's Creed Mirage, among other titles. Capcom just announced that they too will be getting into the press conference fray with a show of its own right on the heels of its successful launch of Street Fighter 6.
Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest is the center of it all, though, taking the place of what would have been E3 2023 this year. The showcase will see myriad game trailers, from world premieres to chatting with developers themselves about the games they have coming down the pipeline. Over forty different publishers will be there, including Black Desert's Pearl Abyss, Magic the Gathering, Amazon Games and more.
Here is the full Schedule breakdown of both the press conferences as well as Summer Game Fest proper:
The Guerilla Collective kicks things off on Wednesday, June 7th with a look at some indie titles. Some games confirmed to be at the showcase include Europa, Nocturnal and Lil' Guardsman, though the publisher is promising more.
