A new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has unveiled the game's co-op mode, which supports up to three players throughout the campaign.
Revealed at Summer Game Fest 2023, the game is set to come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime this winter.
The new look opens with a cutscene setting the stage for a battle against a Tyranid splinter fleet on Avarax and Kodaku. We then saw a montage of third-person shooting across space stations, cities, and the wilderness, promising the same bloody action of the original. Then comes the big reveal, when Titus is joined by two other soldiers to blast through the hordes of Tyranids.
Geoff Keighley also showed off Space Marine 2 at The Game Awards last year, revealing gameplay showing the Defenders of Mankind taking on the horrors that dwell in the darkness.
First announced in 2021, Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 marks the return of the franchise after more than a decade. Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is a third-person shooter that first launched in 2011. The game will once again star Titus, the Ultramarines captain from the original. But the character is now stronger and taller thanks to his Primaris upgrade. The game is in development at Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive, in partnership with Games Workshop.
We called the original Space Marine good in our review, saying, "Space Marine may stumble here and there, but manages to remain entertaining from start to finish."
