Lies of P, a new Souls-like coming to consoles and PC later this year, made its latest appearance today at the Summer Game Fest event hosted by Geoff Keighley. The trailer revealed a new release date and announced a public demo to allow anxious fans to get their hands on the game.
As of right now, players can download a demo to try Lies of P for themselves. The game, which will launch on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5, is available to sample on those same platforms. It has been delayed to September 19. That’s not long after Mortal Kombat 1 arrives. The month already looks packed.
Lies of P takes its inspiration from the familiar tale of Pinocchio. The developer’s vision doesn’t line up perfectly with original author Carlo Collodi’s take, however. Publisher Neowiz describes it as an action Souls-like game that unfolds in the city of Krat. Deadly puppets are everywhere. If that’s not bad enough, there’s also a killer plague. In the middle of all this cheeriness, players must battle to find Geppetto so they can finally become human.
The Lies of P public demo provides access to the game’s first two chapters. They feature boss battles, key characters, and multiple areas to explore. The publisher believes it will keep players busy for hours. It also serves as an excellent chance to explore the Krat hub area. Still, it only “scratches the surface” of content that will be included in the full version at launch.
