The Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct wrapped up several hours ago, and the event was pretty good. There were several reveals, gameplay for upcoming titles and extensive details for Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG.
While Forza Motorsport and Starfield are the only first-party titles confirmed for this year, they’re only the beginning. Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty told the press in a panel that the goal is to have four first-party titles games a year (per Geoff Keighley’s tweet). Booty also thinks that Microsoft has “turned the corner” on releases, per Stephen Totilo of Axios.
Furthermore, despite several titles announced for 2024, like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Avowed, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Towerborne, there are hints of others that haven’t been announced. Then again, this may also be a hint at 2025 titles. Time will ultimately tell, but the goal is “four big games a year.”
In the meantime,Forza Motorsport is out on October 10th, while Starfield launches on September 6th (with a Premium Edition confirmed). Both titles are coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC and also launching on day one for Game Pass.

Xbox studios boss Matt Booty says they think they've «turned the corner» on game releases. Hints there are still 2024 games to come that haven't been announced. (Might also have been hinting at 2025; a bit vague).
