New Street Fighter 6 footage was shared online, showcasing two of the characters that will be available in the game when it releases worldwide on PC and consoles on June 2nd.
The new footage, which can be watched below, is yet another developer match pitting classic Street Fighter II grappler Zangief against newcomer Marisa. While the match is short, it does a great job showcasing both characters' unique fighting styles. Zangief, in particular, looks extremely dangerous, mostly due to the Drive system mechanics, which seem to work in his favor.
While CAPCOM has mostly focused on the competitive side of Street Fighter 6, the next entry in the celebrated fighting game series will feature plenty of content for those who are not looking to compete in any capacity. The game's World Tour mode will not only help newcomers understand everything there is to know about the series as a whole but also make fans fall in love with the franchise even more. World Tour mode will also get updated when DLC characters drop, so completing this mode close to the game's launch won't be the end of it.
When it comes to gameplay, Street Fighter 6 seems to be really nailing it. While the closed beta featured only a limited selection of characters, I couldn't help but notice how every one of them was incredibly fun to play, which is definitely telling, considering I never felt this way about previous entries in the series, despite having been a massive fan since the days of the very first Street Fighter II version.
Street Fighter 6 launches worldwide on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on June 2nd, 2023.
