In a year that saw the release of games like God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West, one of the surprise biggest PS5 exclusives of last year was the small, but beautiful indie cat adventure Stray. The game not only garnered great reviews and good sales, but its appearance on PlayStation Plus on Day 1 led to a big bump in subscriptions for Sony’s service.
Well, soon the fuzzy fun won’t just be for PlayStation owners, as today during the latest Annapurna Interactive Showcase, it was revealed that Stray will be coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in early August. The game launched in July of last year, so it seems the PS5 got around a year of console exclusivity. You can check out a fresh trailer for the Xbox version of the game, below.
Haven’t been keeping up with Stray? Here’s a quick official description for the game.
“Lost, alone and separated from family, a stray cat must untangle an ancient mystery to escape a long-forgotten city. Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. Roam surroundings high and low, defend against unforeseen threats and solve the mysteries of this unwelcoming place inhabited by curious droids and dangerous creatures.”
Even if you’re not a cat person, Stray is definitely worth your time, as I found it to be a beautiful, absorbing sci-fi adventure in my full 9 out of 10 review…
“Stray may be small and scrappy, but it’s also beautiful, lovingly crafted, and bounds from one genre and play style to the next with impressive grace. Even cat skeptics ought to be won over by the game, so don’t be afraid to invite this Stray in from the cold.”
Stray is available to play now on PC
