A demo for the upcoming Dark Souls 3 prequel mod, Dark Souls Archtrones, will be arriving this September.
The news was announced through a short demo teaser on the project's Twitter account yesterday. You'll find this tweet below. An exact release date wasn't provided, and the video only mentions "September 2023". More news about the demo will likely be shared soon.

For those unfamiliar with this exciting upcoming Dark Souls 3 prequel mod - Dark Souls Archtrones will be a DLC-sized mod featuring mechanics from the original Demon's Souls. According to the development team, it will offer overhauled 3D models, new animations, improved lighting as well the world layout of Demon's Souls, soul form, world tendency, and more.
Over the past year, the fan mod has received several gameplay videos alongside screenshots showing off the mod's environments and combat.
“Archthrones is an overhaul mod for Dark Souls 3 on a scale never seen before”, the team describes the mod. “It has been in development for almost 2 years now, but there is still much more for us to do.”
“An alternate story unfolds across five unique worlds, each accessed via the Nexus of Embers. Encounters with bosses and allies await in this hostile, but beautifully reimagined version of Lothric and other Dark Souls locales.”
