AMC Networks has announced the premiere date for its latest addition to The Walking Dead universe, with Deadline reporting that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is set to debut September 10 on both AMC and AMC+. The spinoff series stars Norman Reedus, reprising his role as fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon.
In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, viewers will follow Daryl's journey as he finds himself washed ashore in France, facing the challenge of piecing together how and why he ended up there. The series will take audiences on an exploration of a broken yet resilient France as Daryl seeks a way back home. Along the way, he forms unexpected connections that complicate his ultimate plan.
Joining Reedus in the cast are Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the fifth spinoff and sixth overall show based on the popular The Walking Dead franchise, originally created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The first season of the spinoff consists of six episodes, with David Zabel writing the first episode and co-writing the second alongside Jason Richman. Coline Abert is credited as the writer for the third episode, while Shannon Goss takes on the fourth. The fifth episode sees Richman and Zabel collaborating once again, and Richman teams up with Laura Snow to co-write the season finale.
This new spinoff follows the recent launch of The Walking Dead: Dead City in June, featuring Lauren Cohan as Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan. Additionally, AMC is currently in the process of developing another spinoff titled The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne, which will see Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira
