Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard will be making his feature film directorial debut alongside his Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-star Billy Bryk for the upcoming horror comedy, Hell of a Summer.
Wolfhard and Bryk also wrote the script for the indie film and will be co-directing for 30West. While much of the plot and casting details remain unknown, the Stranger Things star and Bryk will star alongside Fred Hechinger (who also starred in HBO's The White Lotus) as the lead actors.

«I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film. I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30West and Aggregate is a real dream,» Wolfhard said. Hechinger, Jason Bateman (Arrested Development), Michael Costigan (Ghost in the Shell, producer), and Jay Van Hoy (The Lighthouse, producer) are slated to produce the film, and production will begin this month in Ontario, Canada. Both Wolfhard and Byrk are native Canadians and seem excited to return home to make their feature film directing debuts.
In 2020, Wolfhard made his first directorial debut with the short film Night Shifts. Outside of playing Mike Wheeler on the hit series Stranger Things, Wolfhard is also known for his role as Richie Tozier in It and It: Chapter Two. Wolfhard also played Trevor in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, where he and Bryk (Zahk) starred together. The directing pair also starred together in Jesse Eisenberg's When You Finish Saving the World, which was released this past January. Bryk also starred in Wolfhard's Night Shifts.
