Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer recently revealed new information about the upcoming Stranger Things spinoff series. Following a three-year hiatus, partially due to delays caused by the pandemic, the science-fiction fantasy horror series returned to Netflix with record-breaking viewership numbers. Critical acclaim and fan hype have helped Stranger Things season 4 become the most-watched television series on any streaming service this year, overtaking the immensely popularStar Wars show Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+.
The Duffer brothers recently revealed that while working on Stranger Things season 5, they have been developing a very different spinoff series. Although no details of the potential show have been revealed, the brothers have admitted that Mike Wheeler star Finn Wolfhard correctly guessed the concept of the upcoming series. However, the duo previously admitted that the spinoff concept would be very different from Stranger Things.

During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Variety), the Duffer brothers revealed a story update regarding the potential Stranger Things spinoff series. When asked about details about the new show, the creators explained that although they will not divulge any specifics, they shared that the spinoff will be "1000% different" from Stranger Things.
