Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Stranger Things season 4!
Stranger Things looks like it may repeat a mistake made by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, as Eleven has started to resemble the latter's Rey and Kylo Ren with her sudden resurrection powers. Eleven has always been one of the most important parts of Stranger Things, but inheriting one of Rey's worst traits could severely harm her character going into season 5 of the show. The Duffer Brothers still have time to undo this plot point, as Stranger Things season 4 ends on a worrying cliffhanger in preparation for its final season.
The penultimate season of Stranger Things raises the stakes by killing both Max Mayfield and Eddie Munson at the hands of Vecna. However, Eleven is seemingly able to resurrect Max at the last moment using her psychic powers. A similar plot point occurs inThe Rise of Skywalker, as Kylo Ren sacrifices himself to use the Force to heal Rey after Rey did the same to him earlier in the movie.

Giving Rey Force healing abilities is one of the most controversial acts in any Star Wars movie, and Stranger Things needs to avoid this issue. Rey and Kylo Ren's healing abilities undercut the Force powers of every Jedi before them. If Force healing exists, then why did Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Yoda have to die? Stranger Things needs to avoid this plot point, as introducing messiah-like healing powers can cast a new light on earlier scenes before such powers had even been conceived, and characters such as Bob Newby, Barb Holland, and Eddie Munson may have their deaths cheapened by the end of the series as a result.
