Stellar Blade will feature three different display modes when it launches this April on PlayStation 5, members of the development team confirmed.
In an interview with German publication Play3, as spotted by Genki on X/Twitter, Game Director Kim Hyung-Tae and technical director Lee Dong-Gi confirmed the game will feature three different display modes. Performance mode seems to be the mode to play the game as the developers intended, as it was developed with 60 FPS in mind, as is usually the case for action games. Also featured will be a resolution mode with 4K resolution support and a Balanced mode that attempts to strike a balance between the two modes. It hasn't been specified if Balanced
Mode supports 40 FPS gameplay, as some PlayStation 5 titles do.
Following the release of Stellar Blade's extended gameplay footage during last month's State of Play, Shift Up started revealing additional details about their game, such as its mixture of linear environments and open-world zones, side activities, and more. In this regard, as much as in others, the game has been clearly influenced by the Nier series, the series created by Yoko Taro which managed to masterfully combine open-world areas with linear segments and varied gameplay.
Stellar Blade launches on PlayStation 5 on April 26th.
