Stellar Blade is only a couple of days out from release, and if you're hoping to go into the game as fresh as possible, this is the most dangerous time to be browsing social media. Just like with most games of Stellar Blade's magnitude, it seems as though the street date has been broken, and physical copies are already making their way into the hands of eager fans.
Over the past couple of days, a few people have been posting images to the Stellar Blade subreddit of themselves with their copy in hand (thanks GamesRadar), explaining that an employee at their local GameStop has apparently started handing out the game to customers who are going in to pay off pre-orders. One of the first people to obtain a copy was Reddit user Hawkeye9966, who posted an image of their copy on April 23.
With the early release of physical copies, spoilers are never too far behind. Stellar Blade's Reddit page is apparently struggling to keep them all contained, but is nuking them whenever they pop up, while a couple of spoilers were also reportedly uploaded to the game's Discord server, but were also removed. It's unlikely you'll run into any spoilers by simply browsing social media at the moment, but you might find them if you go looking.
Given how Stellar Blade is a relatively linear game, and you could feasibly beat the entire thing in a few days if you no-life it, we can probably expect to see more spoilers cropping up pretty soon. Certain players will have had multiple days with the game before launch, not to mention that some have been grinding the demo to make the main game easier, so it's best to lock down now if you're bothered about that kind of thing.
At least when you lock down, you know there's a quality title waiting for you at the end of your social media blackout. Stellar Blade reviews went live earlier today, and are pretty glowing across the board, earning a score of 84 and a rating of "Mighty" on Open Critic.
