That a new Bethesda Game Studios title is going to attract an enormous amount of players is not a bold prediction by any means, and sure enough, it seems like Starfield is upholding that tradition. The sci-fi RPG’s full global launch is mere hours away now, but for about a week, it has been available to Premium and Constellation Edition owners. And during that early access period, it seems it’s already hit a major milestone.
As per estimate data provided by tracking site PlayTracker, Starfield has already surpassed 2 million players, with both Steam and Xbox having seen over a million players each.
Given the fact that the game isn’t even officially out yet, that’s quite impressive, even if it doesn’t necessarily come as a huge shock, in light of the concurrent player numbers it has been enjoying on Steam. The RPG’s Premium Edition upgrade also managed to break into the weekly UK top 10. One would imagine that following the game’s imminent launch, those numbers will only continue to balloon rapidly.
In our review of Starfield, we awarded it a score of 10/10, saying, “As unfathomably vast and boundless as the subject matter it covers, Starfield raises the bar for its genre and for the medium as a whole in countless ways – much like the best of its Bethesda-developed forebears did in their time.” Read the full review through here.
Based on our user sampling data so far, PlayTracker estimates <a href=«https://twitter.com/hashtag/Starfield?src=hash&ref_src=» https:>#Starfield
has far surpassed the 1M player milestone on both Steam and XBOX with just the Premium Edition buyers.
Sampling data comes in slowly, with a delay. Full launch is tomorrow, we'll be watching the fireworks. pic.twitter.com/t9t3J7olbD
