The title follows most of the tropes present across the company’s games, such as open-world exploration, leeway to build characters as the player pleases, and many side quests. In fact, there are many side quests in that are better than the main campaign itself.
Regardless of the content itself, is a great game due to its technical polish, even if there may still be some bugs present while exploring planets across the universe. Nevertheless, is much better than in that aspect, as it corrected classic mistakes that the fantasy RPG made evident during years. The problem is that, in doing so, it also removed one of ’s most endearing glitches, which was never actually removed and with which players eventually grew accustomed. It does not have a negative impact on gameplay itself, but those who played thousands of hours in may notice something lacking in .

One of the most well-known glitches in that never ended up being fixed was the ability to pull NPCs through loading doors. Players could interact with a door to load into a new area and, if an NPC was having a conversation with the player’s Dragonborn character, they would be dragged into the next room as well. If players were exiting Warmaiden’s and Ulfberth War-Bear were still talking to the player from behind the counter, he would be pulled outside, into the streets of Whiterun to finish his monologue. This curious glitch never really made it into, and it is somewhat missed.
